Konnex PL132 - Power-Line-Communication using the CENELEC-C-Band

Power-line-communication is to use the mains wiring for data communication. Because mains wiring and plugs are found nearly everywhere in every house, the installation expenses and the costs involved will be reduced, compared to other wire-bound communication solutions. This results in a very attractive alternative for the automation technology, especially for domestic applications. This article gives basic technical information about power-line-communication and the standard Konnex PL132. Furthermore, a low-cost power-line communication module is presented, designed specially for domestic applications.
